The post is an interesting read. The conclusion is apt – that new media is not just about technologies but also about new ideas. The new media is undoubtedly a different media and requires a different blueprint for story telling or making oneself read.

I read this post with great interest, since I am a blogger and also a professional newspaper journalist, with a well-known English national newspaper.

My comment is: we need all types media – old, the not so old and the new. Afterall, we live today in a multimedia society. We should take care not pit one against the other; because each type of media is unique in its own way. The vast extent of variety offers a huge range of choice to readers.

If two newspapers carried pix of a celebrity (for good reason or not), there are any number of other media that did not (again for good reason or not).

Today technology has given us alternatives, not just a few, but many. Let us all — journalists, bloggers and mere readers — revel in this; and keep communicating in the best possible way.

Like the Bachchans are disconcerted by all the attention. It’s gotta be a cold day in hell before I believe the reporters and cameramen “somehow know” when the bachchans are going to the temple or meeting up with someone or taking a crap.
